What Is The M1 Practice Test Ontario?

What are the limitations of an M1 motorcycle licence?

If you possess an M1 license, you are authorized to operate a motorcycle, motor tricycle, limited-speed motorcycle, or moped, subject to the following stipulations:

  • You are prohibited from driving if you have consumed alcohol. Your blood-alcohol concentration must be zero.
  • You are permitted to drive only during daylight hours, which are defined as the half-hour before sunrise to the half-hour after sunset.
  • You must avoid driving on roads with speed limits exceeding 80 km/h.
  • You are not allowed to carry any passengers.

How To Prepare For The M1 Practice Test?

You are one step closer to passing your M1 test and getting your motorcycle licence and getting yourself legal to ride your motorbike.

In Ontario, the first step is to ensure that you have the proper knowledge and skills by studying the Official M1 Rider’s Handbook. You can find a copy of the handbook at Ontario DriveTest Centre or online. The second step is to study the M1 Motorcycle Practice Test which you can do here for free.

What are the eligibility requirements for a M1 License in Ontario?

Age Requirement

The minimum age requirement is at least 16 years old to take the M1 test in Ontario.

Knowledge Test

Passing the M1 Knowledge Test is a requirement. The Knowledge test covers important information on motorcycle safety, traffic signs, and other essential topics.

Valid Identification

You must have acceptable identification, such as a valid Ontario driver’s license or a passport.

Vision Test

The riders must pass a vision test to demonstrate that they have adequate vision to operate a motorcycle.

Parental Consent

There are some restrictions for underage riders. If the rider is under the age of 18, parental or legal guardian consent is required to take the test.

Valid Issuance of M1 License

Once you have met these legal requirements and passed the Ontario M1 motorcycle test, you will be issued an M1 license. This will allow you to legally ride a motorcycle on Ontario roads with certain restrictions.
